Karen stages scenes on photo paper on the floor in the darkroom,
exposes them to light and then develops them traditionally with black and white chemistry.
No camera is used so no negative is produced, making each piece a one-of-a-kind.
Karen’s work speaks to her experience facing life as a contemporary woman in America.
